Twin Variable Geometry Turbo??

I was just wandering if it be logical to run twin variable geometry turbo's on a twin turbo dodge cummins replacement turbo's? I was watching tv and they were talking about the new 07 porsche 911 has twin charger variable turbo which increased the 0-60 mph from 3.9 secs last year to 3.1 secs....any thoughts on this?

from what I have read on the 07 twiin turbo ferds and its not much, is that there is one VGT turbo and then a regular turbo to feed the other or vice versa something like that. if you are talking about now they just have singles still...Someone help me out

Sure it's logical to get good spoolup with big twins, it's just kind of difficult to do. You need some way to tell the turbos when to go small and when to adjust. I remember hearing about someone trying them on a Cummins and having the turbo adjust to a small turbine area and blow the turbo up. I still love the idea, and if I had the money I would attempt to develop some.

the difference is these are not sequential turbos. one for each bank. i dont understand why you would want two of them. theyre only for quick spool. one for the spool and one to feed it. if you had two vvts the second wouldnt be as efficient as having a regular turbo. its not the second turbo you need to worry about spooling quickly, its the first. it would basically defeat the purpose for twins: quick spool and good top end. now if you had twins that werent sequential then this would ideal, one to feed three cylinders each.
