Your truck came with 245/75/16E tires, which is a 10 ply tire. I don't beleive they were offering the 265/75/16E option in '99, but that size will also work for you. I would suggest using a 10 ply tire simply because of the engine weight. I have run "D" load range tires which were rated slightly less than the factory tire, but I did not get very good tread life from these. If you do a search, you will find plenty of info regarding tires. I realize you may have purchased the truck used and you might not have an owners manual, so continue to ask questions, the amount of knowledge here far out numbers the smart mouths.

Man calling someone an idiot for just mentioning checking the owners manual? He was being helpfull, not sarcastic dude! Good way to make friends here. This is a great group of knowledgeable people and I think that remark was 100% uncalled for.

I recently installed the Michelin LTX's that are listed in my sig, 245 75R16 E from Sam's club. If you have not purchased load range E tires previously, you will find they are going to cost more than you're used to. About $165/each installed was my final price.

As for manuals, you can go to Dodge.com and either download one or order one for your truck, which I highly reccommend.

This is a good group of people, doing our best to help each other out. As you can see by my post count, I'm no newbe, and just like at work, we occasionally may "goof" when it comes to light humor, etc. Please be patient as we try to work with with other to help each other out. Thanks.

useally the AWR's and have been very happy with them on my 1500
however with the added weight, i just don't feel they will preform like i'm use too
maybe i'm wrong but i just don't want to get stuck

The LTX's have a moderatley agressive tread, they are an all-terrain tire. However they are a harder compound than some; increased tread life is the result. They are very smooth riding and quiet for an all-terrain tire. I used to run Wrangler RT-S's but was not getting quite as much life out of them as I would have hoped for. The RT-S's DID handle smooth, dry curves just a bit better than the LTX's likely due to the rubber hardness.

You might do a search on this topic, there was a fairly length interaction on here when I asked about my tires, that was about three weeks ago. Good luck!
