Silencer removal
It's no big deal just take the hose off from the air box to the turbo and you will see the silencer it is held in by a big snap ring. gently (with a small screwdriver) start working the snap rig out a little a a time just keep going around with the srewdriver working it towards you. it will finally come out and then you can remove the silencer ring. It only takes about 5 mins enjoy your new whistle.
Is my dealer going to have any problem with the ring removed??
should I drop it back in when I take it in for service??
It does sound great under power when you drive by one of those concrete walls on the highway!!

I don't think the dealer will care at all there is no reason for the silencer ring except for the customer convienience. No other application of the cummins uses a silencer ring. It is a D/C thing so put a big air box on her and let the whistle blow.
