Shirt, pants soaked w/diesel...How do I clean?

Long story short, I installed CAT 2mic fuel filter in my toolbox. While re-routing fuel lines, I got diesel on my shirt, pants, in my ear, , etc. I've cleaned my clothes twice, on a heavy cycle w/ extra soap and added Pinesol, because my wife thought it'd help.... NADA. Still stinks like diesel. I love diesel, just can't handle sniffing it all day long... gives me a headache. HELP...

Get rid of shirt, pants, and ear. Maybe just keep the ear. You won't be too happy if you contaminate the whole washer with diesel and all your clothes start to stink.

get some greased lightning (purple bottle) from autozone...that stuff breaks down oil, diesel fuel, anything it touches. add some to your laundry when you have heavy oil or fuel stains

Well, even though I think it's a cool idea, I don't have the money to burn my clothes at will...

I like the simple green idea and may try that. The greased lightning stuff might be a bit too strong for fabric, seeing what it does to certain metals...

On Edit:: Make that the contents of that can - not the sealed can by itself. Just had to clarify after reading my post.

That one sounds good too... Hey if Coke can take off rust, it ought to take off the diesel...

My friend took a bath in diesel while change some fuel line on a rabbit. The jeans and jacket that got soaked still smell like diesel from 25 feet away. that was about 1 year ago. He might have just tossed them since I haven't noticed the smell in a while. Good luck.
