Craigslist. Easy and free. Don't get too much scamming anymore.
I've bought and sold pretty much every vehicle, toy, parts, tools etc on CL for the last several years.
Don't think there's anywhere else that gets that much traffic for selling.
Just take cash only or follow them to their bank to get the funds.

I second that! Craigslist is the best way. I sold my 07 crew cab on there but had to go through some idiotic questions that were described in the post, so be prepared for that.

Don't forget one thing, if you are buying a new one, if you are selling to prevent getting hosed by the dealership, you have to take into account the extra sales tax you will pay by selling yours outright. For instance our rate is 7-1/2 percent, so say you only were offered 19K for your truck, when you bought the new one you would be on the hook for an additional 1425 bucks in taxes.

Some dealerships factor that into what they offer........

No sales taxes here on a sale, just a purchase.
You're supposed to declare it on your 1099,but we know how that works. Not!

Same here, but when you trade your old vehicle in, they don't assign sales tax on the trade in value, versus the sales tax you would pay if you didn't have a trade in.

For example, you buy a 40,000 dollar truck

With 19K trade in, 40K-19K X .075 Tax = $ 1,575 sales tax owed

Without a trade in, 40K X .075 Tax = $ 3,000 sales tax owed

So for you to come out ahead selling, you would have to get minimum of 20,425 for your truck, obviously for the hassle, you would want to get much more than that.

Gotcha. We pay 8.75% sales tax on the purchase price regardless of trade or cash down. My truck was $30,750 from Dave Smith in 2006. Had to pay "use tax=sales tax" here based on that amount, plus registration. Registration was down at the time thanks to Arnold which he increased soon after. Wish DSM would open a store here. They treated me real fine from 1400 miles away.

Autotrader is only like 60 bucks and runs till you sell it. I had good luck on there.

I've never been to Portland, but didn't see many bums on my trips to Oregon. My guess is that the weather leads them down here. Thanks to Moonbeam we have the distinction of being the highest taxed state in the nation.
Social welfare programs, the Bullet Train to Nowhere and liberal politics don't help.
