Pulled Over- Smoking too much

Well on the way to the store tonight and some Mustang was messing around with me. We finally end up at a stop light and I need to make a right turn at the next light , and I forgot the number 1 rule before messing around, check your mirrors...yup as soon as I let go off the line with a nice plume of gray to black smoke, I check my mirror and what do I see a set red and blue lights, emerging from that cloud of smoke. Luckily, no tire screech and I didn't break the 45 MPH limit in that area.

All in all, after a nice pleasant education on DPF's with the man in blue..."this truck shouldn't smoke like that, is it broken?"...I was let off with a warning to drive safely.

The officer believed that there should be "no smoke" and that my friends is why I bought my '06.

Good thing you"did not break traction",you might have been a guest in Santa Rita for three days and been fined by BAAQMD for excessive emissions.

I fully support the policeman's efforts.

Since your state has insititued such expansive laws on emissions (and yes, they don't "technincally" apply to your '06), they should be enforced.

I agree with the cop. If you are chipped (heck, even if you aren't) and you are fogging the area with unburnt fuel, i.e. black smoke, you deserve a chatting to. (With fuel prices where they are, you must have lots of disposable income.)

Mine Don't smoke! Do That Mean It's broke?

My last two truck smoked pretty bad. I'm kind of glad my new one doesn't smoke but I have nothing against trucks that do.....

The cop here at school says as long as it dont smoke for more than 10 seconds that i cant be ticketed, even though i can cover the parking lot and the road in about 5 seconds. But i guess its just diffferent areas. I dont try for the smoke though it just happens. But when i make it smoke it gets bad.
