Yea, they are probably scarce now(seeing the engine isnt even available yet), but so were VGTs 4 years ago. I'm not certain on the two compressor wheel sizes of the honeywell, but I bet they can flow more air between them than a single VGT turbo. It's basically like having twins w/o alot of the pumbing. The only issue would be that all the drive pressure is on one turbine. I'm sure it'd be fun to play with.
