New batteries... OOooohhh :)
When the batteries in my old 98.5 went south I went to the local Bomgaars store and bought 2-1100 CCA industrial batteries, they were bigger than the automotive ones but at -25 that truck would start without being plugged in.
You guys that get excited about new batteries need to get out more often, maybe a litle more fiber in your diet.
All I care about is that my batterties work and they are clean, taken care of.
I put the green & red anti-corrosion rings on them, spray them with battery anti corrosion stuff.
Batteries typicly start to let you know they are getting weak. The nominal voltage drops, and they do not charge up as high. First sign of non starting, typiclly after 4-5 years, replace.
Wally world batteries are good for the $, can be replaced almost anywhere. Good warranty too, 3 years free replacement, maybe more?
This is what makes me sleep a little better at night.

I got two 1050 CCA DEKA batteries back in Aug. for $75/ea (cash) from the Deka Wholesaler in South Bend, IN.
Just go to the DEKA website & click on "Locations" in your state.

"I gotta tie them down, the battery box is not tight enough. We'll see."
Mark:
Optima makes an adaptor for our truck. Shoot them and email or call them.
Put my Red Top Model 34's in on 09-15-06 at 152,420 and they still crank like new. Best part - no corroded terminals.

I just picked up two Die Hard 1150 cca group 31 batteries. They're made by Odyssey, but about $100 bucks a battery cheaper. I couldn't wait because I'm heading to Mississippi for training and my wife will have the truck. It still had it's original batteries in it and they were pretty corroded. I wasn't going to take the chance with the temps dropping.
