I'm sure every company has bad employees like these fellas.

If you ask me, its peoples bad work ethic like this that is causing these companies to go under.

People like that should be fired.

Wow that is freaking dumb!! What will happen when one of those guys is responsible for the limb removal of another worker? Or even death? I would guess that FORD will be firing these guys real soon. They are probably line Formans and get everything set up for the day and leave! JB

I'd wager they could sit in a bar near any major business and see the same if not worse.
I'm used to seeing GS'ers at "work" .....don't EVEN get me started......

I'd put the blame squarely on management's shoulders. If they are not aware of this, they are not doing their job. If they are allowing this, they are not doing their job. You can't be off the job for 4 hours a day without the boss knowing what's going on.

Wanna here something really funny???

A few years back before it was made a public thing that FORD was losing money I used to do some work for them at our local casting plant. I would send my guys over there at 0600 and not get a call from them until 1700. This went on for months. Why didn't I get a call? Because my guys were working their tails off and couldn't find the FORD union steward to sign off on their Work Order! I billed them for every hour my guys were there and made a nice amount of money, but here's the best part...... about a month into one particular project I'm at the motocross track with my brother. We get to talking to the guy who parks next to us every Wednesday at 1600 for practice. We start giving him a hard time about his PowerJoke and he says "well, if I could get a Dodge with a Cummins this cheap I would." I ask him how he got such a good deal on the PowerJoke and he tells me he works at the casting plant.... yeah, that's right! He's the union steward who signs our work orders! I found out that on Wednesday's he actually leaves the race track for about an hour, drives back into the plant to do some end of day housekeeping, and comes back and rides with us until dark! Hmm, and they wonder why they are struggling financially!?
