Justify Owning a Dually

I know I dont need six tires or the capacity they can carry. A 4x4 dually that is set up right looks better than any truck on the road in my opinion. Is there anything that can justify me buying a dually instead of an SRW truck?

When asked "What do you carry with that big Monster?".....

My answer, "So far, everything that I've been able to put in the bed."

Do I NEED a dually all the time, NO

Will I get rid of mine, NO.

If this one was totalled today, would I buy abnother one......OHHHHHH YEAH!

I want to trade my SRW up to a dually in the future. My "excuse"? I have a small camper now (10ft) and want to upgrade to a larger one So I need a dually so it is more stable.. hehe!

I do intend to buy a 5th wheel in the next couple years. Does that work? I just get a little faint when I think about how much it cost for my last four tires and to have to add two more, ouch!

I had one for 5 years, but when it came time for a new truck, the dually bug was over for me, I just had to get what I really needed for my fifthwheel. I do like the looks better than a swr truck, but what's that song, "you can't always get what you want".

As long as you don't have to deal with snow. But if you have to drive like I do on unplowed roads from time to time a srw is much better than a dually.

first off, i doen't tow anything. However when people ask me why i "need" such a big truck, i ask them do why people "need" corvettes. My answer is that nobody "needs" a corvette and i don't "need" a diesel. it's my money and i'll buy whatever i want. you don't need to justify yourself to anyone........uh well except maybe your old lady, but in that case then just make something up.

There you go, you justified it right there.

When my dad bought his Gmc 2500 HD, our justification for that was we had 2 IH Scouts that we wanted to make into off roading trucks. We needed a truck that could pull a trailer with both trucks on it.

We never did get them done and junked them a year later, but we had a nice new truck.

I've had 3 dually's, and just bought a srw. I live in snow country and without some good tires and 4x4, a dually is worthless! Also driving in a wet pasture a dually is worthless. I liked mine ok. Kind of a pain when having to buy tires. Also, a pain to park sometimes too. Would I get another dually? Yes, if I really was going to tow something big, but my srw will still tow quite a bit. Also, my diually's usually had 1-2 mpg less than my srw. I've bough all my trucks used, and the dually's were usually less money than a similar srw. But most of them haf been worked harder too!

Your wallet is all the justification you need, if you can afford it and want it...go for it!

If I walked around my place and had to justify everything in it I'd be in trouble, so would a few other occupants
