I saw an Iveco back in 1985. The engine was not all that great, it had many problems just hauling commercial HVAC units out of Clarksville, TN. In fact an old Ford 1 ton with a 460 did better then it could, so I find it somewhat hard to believe its better then a 1st gen. Cummins engine.

Ivecos
My employer purchased Ivecosprior to acquiring Hinos. The Ivecos were smoke belching p.o.s.'s that we auctioned off. Hinos replaced them and have been excellent.

A couple of our combines on the harvest crew had iveco engines, they started and ran better than the Dt466 engines in some of the combines , and were easier on fuel , even though they had an extra 80 HP. Seemed fairly reliable also, had no problems at all besides plugging fuel filters, they were sealed up tighter than a cummins too , I only noted one oil leak, that was fixed by re-torquing the valve cover bolts.
