Interesting Sound Heard at work today.

I was at work today im a contractor on a military base where i work on the military jet engines and such and they had a new contractor come in today and display a new engine to us in the warehouse. It was called RamCam.... was a little wierd looking but very impressive. The unit they showed us was tested at 713hp and weight of 388lbs. They cranked it up and the engine sounded like a huge turbo spooling up but missing a lot is the best i could explain it. They revved it up to 23k rpms a few times on the display to us and man did it spool up and get there quickly. This test session was very nice to watch today and best of all it was running on diesel fuel which caught my attention. The little bugger i want one now... has anyone heard of them i did a google search and found a company that looked like it was the same engine but they only had 45hp and 115hp version on there site so not sure if same company.... This would be an interesting engine for performance mods and such.

It's actually called a "rand cam". It's made by regtech and it's a rotary diesel engine.

Sounds like the rand cam to me. They can paint them any color they want and they can build them in different sizes too. They made the 42 HP and the 125 HP specifically for the unmanned aircraft. Doesn't mean that they never made another size. I could be wrong but I think that's the company you are looking for.

Here's another engine that was discussed on this forum awhile back. Same concept I *think*, not sure tho. At the very least, interesting.
