They definitely increase mpgs but only when you are at 15psi or more boost. It's really weird but on both my trucks and several others I know get 2-4 better mpgs towing on hills than they do on flat land with a TAG.
The TAG really quiets down turbo noise also, I wouldn't be without one.

After 50 years running diesel equipment and trucks I'd rather preserve what hearing I have left.

I had a tornado on my 95 chev gasser and I saw a gain of about 34-36 miles more out of a tank of gas. The truck has a 25 gallon tank on it so I was pleased with it. Never thought about putting one on my new truck, will have look into it. Of course I would have never thought about using one of these gizmos on my old truck but I was only getting 10 mpg from it so I was willing to try anything, and the tornado worked in this case.

Greg, the Noise ****, warned me drilling the hole in the cowl would make it sound like "a hoover vacuum." So I opted not to do that with my filter. Maybe there can be to much of a good thing!

I know several folks who reluctantly removed their Scotty until they found out how much noise the TAG cuts out. Usually with a Scotty it's the person riding shotgun who suffers the most.
