I wonder if i crumpled up my tinfoil hat and stuffed it into the intake infront of the turbo if it would have the same effect? [dummy] [dummy] [eyecrazy] [roll] :D

That's a POS, same as all the other tornado type devices out there.

On another web site someone made a device that stoped the air from moving around and claimed better mileage and power. Is there anyone who actually has tried it?

NHDiesel 10-23-2005 11:31 AM

Yea, same B.S. junk as most of those products. They also have the same con-job wording as most of the ads: "increase mileage by UP TO 31%" and "power increase of UP TO 35 hp". That means that you could have zero increase in either one, and still be exactly as advertised. When I see something that guarantees a "Minimum of 31% increase in mileage and 35 hp", I'll stand in line.

Popular mechanics magazine did a article where they tested about 6 of the more popular "fuel saving devices" on a new f-150 5.4l, and everyone of them either had no effect or had a negative effect on fuel economy and a loss of hp's.

if the other advice that you are talking about it tha TAG you can get it at http://www.blackclouddiesel.com/Dodge/tag.htm Garrett, bobcat698, who runs the site i think has one in his truck or had one at one time.... mabe he can chime in and let us know what the deal is on those.....

smiller 10-23-2005 09:07 PM

If your truck has a diesel engine then I'd expect that you'll get pretty poor gas mileage no matter what you try... ;)

Dieseldude4x4 10-23-2005 10:34 PM

I have a good way to save 31% on your mileage, drive 32% less than you do now. [dummy]

I've done extensive testing on several CTDs with TAGs. In fact I was one of the designer's guinea pigs.
They definitely increase mpgs but only when you are at 15psi or more boost. It's really weird but on both my trucks and several others I know get 2-4 better mpgs towing on hills than they do on flat land with a TAG.
The TAG really quiets down turbo noise also, I wouldn't be without one.

So maybe the higher fuel prices are just a huge conspiracy to get americans to lose weight? Yeah thats it. :D :D

But yall, this thing will make your auto tranny shift smoother too.

But you must put it in the throttle body.

Guess we are screwed.
