Talking How loud is your 24 valve CTD?

I stopped at Hardees for biscuits this morning and as usual and turned off my engine to order my
biscuits. When I pulled up to pickup my order the line was long enough that I only moved one
car length. A lady in the car behind me at the order window, after trying to order her food, asked me to turn off my engine because the folks could not hear her. I complied, laughing all the while.
Love my Cummins.

I never go through a drive up window anymore. No one can hear. I don't need the fa(s)t food anyway.

I set my roommates car alarm off everytime I drive by. I've been told they can hear me from 1/4-1/2 mile away. It's still not loud enough. I'm thinking duals.

Let's see. I've been told that I was louder than a Peterbilt, (Highway Patrol), I've seen people cover there ears, my brother said he heard me getting off the freeway, a 1 a mile away. People role up there windows. Since I got the injectors in, how about a little (alot) of black smoke to go with the noise.

A guy here at work last week asked me how I got my truck to sound like a Kenworth.

They call it my big rig starter kit here at work.

well.... I don't even bother waiting for them to tell me to shut if off if I go through drive-thru. At a stoplight, most people roll their windows up if they're lucky enough to be sitting by me. I had a guy wait for me in the parking lot of Wal-Mart just so he could ask me how I got my truck to "sound like that". I've had a couple tell me to shut my truck off from several stalls away at Sonic. Been told it sounds like a dump truck..... heard just about everything in the time I've owned the truck.

How do they feel when a diesel event is in town? 20+ diesel trucks in a row in drive through. All shoings off to each other. Nobody would get the right food, but it'd be fun.

I love to bounce that loud pipe off the canyon wall as I'm coming into town. All my buddies know I'm coming about a mile out!

All these listed below really help it sing...

Underpasses / Bridges
Concrete barriers
Canyon walls
Tunnels
Between buildings
Passing other diesel trucks (I had to put that in! )

Mine's not loud enough, exhaust-wise, even with the MEK. When I do go through a drive through with it, which isn't often, I leave a gap between me and the person who is giving their order. I don't particularly enjoy pi$$ing other people off. The same as I don't care to have other people purposely pi$$ing me off.

I've never had anyone complain when I stay back from them a bit. I always have to shut it off when I order. And if it's going to take a while when I'm at the pickup window, I'll shut it off again. I do want the exhaust louder, but the engine noise is good and plenty. I'm waiting until I hear another 24V that sounds the way I want mine to sound. Then I'll see what they've done to their exhaust and I'll do it too.

20* below zero winter mornings, i probably woke up the entire neighborhood. one neighbor always covered his ears when i drove by.

driving in any downtown city is a lot of fun. foot to the floor and all

my 02 was a lot louder than this 92, plus my 02 had turbo whine and a nice "whoosh" in between the shifts.

the people at work say it sounds like the trash truck pulling up when I come in. The kids in the neighborhood think the school bus is coming early and start running out.
