I see it all the time and quite frankly.....well......enjoy it . It seems like since lifting my truck the sound escapes more but maybe that is just me.......my hardest thing is drive through fast food......gotta shut her down! ;D I think the CTD is the loudest out there......buddy of my just bought a new "powder stroke" .....sounds a bit "soft" next to the CTD....anybody know why?

 

I get a few verbal complaints, but mostly I just watch people in traffic rolling their windows up. ;D
I just don't understand, it's music to my ears. 8)

Yeah, I had some guy walk past mine a few weeks ago while I was parked, idling along a sidewalk next to a building, the 'ol motor rattling off the windows. He tells me, annoyed "That's the loudest deezil I ever heard!" I smiled and said "Thank you for the nice compliment, I'm glad you like it" ......Got em even more annoyed. ;D

You're right tanderson about the noise escaping from under the body. You put my sons 2WD next to my 4WD, the noise from mine makes his sound like a gasser....ok...well almost. :

 

Nobody's complained yet that I've heard. ;D

Sometimes I let mine idle while I am working at someones house. I can hear it inside, and inside the bank ;D, I once had someone's neighbor come over and ask me to turn my truck off. If they hadn't told me they had a baby that was trying to sleep, I would have told them no, and gave them a perfectly good technical explanation, thanks to this website

I'll never forget the day I brought it home.

Picked it up on the way to work, so pulled into the driveway after work at 11pm.
Family comes running out to see why there is a Firetruck parked in front of the house.
Couple of the neighbors lights clicked on.

Kids were a little disapointed that it was only me, but they loved the truck.

I've since lifted it and removed the muffler so it's a bit louder now.

Have had more than one person give me an extremely dirty look when I pull into the corner food mart and park by the pay phones, letting the turbo cool for a bit of course, unless I leave it running while I run in. ;D

Many rolled up windows at stoplights, kinda hard to talk on the cell phone with all that racket going on next to ya. :

I was parked to a 4 door car the other day. Not tthinking I started the truck up. "93CTD" and she had the window down and was on the cell phone. well I started the old girl she let out a cloud of "soot" right into the car. That and the noise really made the lady mad. I got the your #1 and pulled out of the parking lot :-

I love it when I can pull up next to a car that has the "boom box" turned up and all the windows down. Those windows sure go up quickly - I don't know whether it's the engine noise or the fumes that they don't like. ;D

 

Can't say that I have had any complaints yet. ;D I do really like the way the Pre 03's sound. I was just to stupid to buy one had to try the Ferd thin first. >

 

Hey my new '03 is so quiet that even my mother liked it! She was so 'disappointed' when I told her what I was getting. a "loud stinking diesel" as she called it...then she went with me to the dealer when I picked it up..she said " THIS isn't what you SAID you were getting!"

I've had a lot more people give me a thumbs-up than a finger-up.

 

My favorite is comming up to the big boy gassers with their cat backs and straight pipes, slam um just to hear the truck adn you pull up and its all they can do to get away haha
