I fully agree about the straight axle, that is what I prefer also. I think the independent help gm get that soft ride. But the duramax comes in second for me after my cummins. I got a chance to ride in an 06 F-250 4x4 4 door with a 6.0 ( all stock) . Now IMO this thing rode very rough, I could not believe it, it made my dually feel like a bently. I did like the turbo whistle though, but I guess it doesnt whistle hard enough cause its not to quick J/K. They are all good in their own way, I just prefer the sound, power, reliability, simplicity and reputation of cummins thats all.
