Ford F-650

I was getting fuel today and pulled up next to a 4 door Ford F-650 and struck up a conversation with the guy. He said he used to have a Dodge 3500 and his tranny went out and then something else so he decided to go with the Ford instead. This was a beautiful truck that had a CAT and Allison in it. If I had to make a living with my truck or was fulltiming in my RV, this is probably what I would get.

Yep, they are beautiful. I'd LOVE to have one, but that price tag nuts.

Meh, I'd still rather have a Cummins. Other things are good, but nothing is better or even as good, IMO!

My father had thought about that also the downn side is if your full timing with a meduim duty truck you have to drive it everywhere. The thought of driving a truck that size to wal-mart is scary. Plus he has to use the Handicap spaces on occosiation and it will defitnly not fit in there.

That Cat C7(3126E) isnt all that good. They have their fair share of problems. It would be like having an 03 Ford with a 6 litre. Some are ok, some are in the shop half their lives.

The Paccar engine in the new KW class 6 and Peterbilt class 5 is actually a Cummins 6.7 . You can get it with an Allison and as a hybrid in the Peterbilt .

I've seen a couple nice Freightliners also pulling RV's. Great for pulling but like you said it would be a little large to drive around in town to run errands. Still cool though!

Another thought: why not full time in a toy hauler that stores a diesel Jetta?

Thinking out loud and promoting diesels !

LOL, that would be the new Optimus, or "Greater Dane" as Diesel likes to call it!
