Ford delays diesel F-150

Too bad. I was hoping that the diesel F-150 would push Chrysler toward bringing the Diesel Ram 1500 to the front-burner again.
I'm afraid given the current low price of gas and economic situation the light-duty diesels are dead (unless you buy a chev, they've been making them for years).

Sorry to rant...but it's typcial old Ford again - talk LOTS, promise the Moon (make it a blue oval moon, at that) and FAIL totally on delivery.
One thing they do seem to be delivering - tons and tons of enviromentially sound chrome plating. Geeze - how much do we need?

I'll argue this , we have a 2003 duramax at work... it gets the tar driven out of it every day, there is never a moment where it is not hauling stuff in the bed , pulling a trailer of some sort , or pushing a 9' snowplow, It's got WAY over 300 000 on the ticker. It starts up and runs every day ( although i will admit it is a little low on power compared to when it was new), sure it gets the usual compliments of ball joints , brakes , yadda yadda replaced, but those ARE wear parts afterall. I don't think there is one straight piece of sheet metal left on that truck anymore..... but it still works better than any half ton would at this point.
I missed the sarcasm. Haha. SorryNO!! Whered you hear that?? Why would they even do that? The 2010 is basically an 09 with entirely new sheetmetal and interior. The frame, suspension, driveline, etc. is pretty much hold over stuff

Not sure where I heard it, it was a few years ago, but that may have been when the 1/2 tons came out with it and the rumor was the HD's were getting it next. I don't know for sure though, that is why I asked.

Yeah Dodge is going to have 5750 IFS... Not, All the 1500's have IFS now. 2500/3500 still have solid and they can hang more weight off front end ofr heavier snow plows
Ahh ok. Back around 01/02 then? I think I recall hearing that rumor also, along with the Mercedes diesel rumor also. Glad THAT one didnt happen!! I probably would have taken IFS and a Cummins over SFA/Mercedes power if that had materialized
