It goes to defrost and the vents just fine. But when I switch to vent/floor or just the floor, nothing comes out the floor. So what can it be?? It's not the blend door. Hopefully nothing that's gonna require $600 in labor.

Probably one of the actuators on the doors getting lazy or a stop has been going bad and sticking.Sorry it's not good news but the HVAC on these 3rd gens just sucks .Mine is still goofy after replacing 2 actuators and the doors ,I read on another forum there is a way to flash the computer to help the movement on them I don't know for sure .

Wouldn't this problem be the mode door?

Mine does it too, but I don't know of a good and permanent fix. So I'm going to live with it till there is one. Either stronger doors or something.

Try only making the switch with the blower on low. When it is on medium or high the actuators don't appear to have the power to make the change against the higher air flow.

You may want to try slowly running all your controls the each extreme one at a time. When my buddy had his apart, he thought there was a memory thing going on and the system 'read' the end switches for reference. Didn't see it but I trust his judgement.

This link might give you some insight as to your problem. Mine does the same, I will not take it apart to correct. Someone said that he used a cleaning rod and moved the door to get heat on the floor.

Thanks for that link. It looks like a difficult but doable fix and mine has the mode 1 door (upper/lower) problem. Someone on here posted their fix which was to remove the entire heater box from the truck and replace some doors and stuff from Dodge. Problem is it's no better than stock and this fix looks like it might be permanent.

Accuator is simple to install a couple screws on the passenger under glove box.

Does it only blow on high? and on defrost?

Could be a bad igintion switch also. But try the changing it on low first.
