Can't switch to defrost vent or floor vent

I'm having lots of problems, that all spawned on the day that I was in the middle of my 350mile run. To start off, the exhaust came off and seperated from the turbo. I already had the windows, traveling at 75mph, so I didn't notice the increase in sound. I kept driving till smoke came in through the vents...

So, now I have a few problems and this is the one I want to fix first. All my air comes in through the main vents, it will not change to defrost of floor.

I started by trying to run down the vacuum lines, but I need a diagram of them, and can't find it in the FSM.

Any ideas? I would run a new line from the booster to the switches in the dash, but I don't which one to tie into.

There are only 3 or 4 vacuum lines under the hood. Just follow the main one up from the pump until it tees at the booster.

And then from the booster, it goes into a harness in the firewall behind the glove box. I pulled on the wire to help trace it, and it broke the nipple connection in harness.

I'm loosing the main line as it goes through the fire wall.

Pull out the glove box, you will find it again.
