Compound turbos on it eh? Well it sure helps get rid of that popping V8 sound I hear all the time around here. That was not impressive stock power IMHO.. With all the hype, I would expect more, especially with "zero" lag that they promote...

Piezo injectors are a step forward, but the recall 6 weeks into production sorta took the wind out of the "reliability" sails..

there is tons of lag! look at the smoke he spits out and listen to it rev up and move an inch for about 2 sec...and then it takes off...its almost like he's standing on the brake....for what its worth the twin turbo idea is ford's idea for emmisions at low rpms as well as marketing...to a diesel newby wouldn't the idea of twin turbos sound awesome? ofcourse..they know that...so they market it...I would still like to know how they bypass the emmision stuff in the exhaust system...isnt there like 2 cats and that silly soot burner device?

interestign that u meantion unreliability. It is almost understood in the pick-up truck community nowadays that diesels are most expensive to maintain, break down more often, have more glitches. When people think reliability nowadays they think small 4.8 or 5.3 chev/gmc....what happened???...diesels used to be known for good mileage, reliability, noise and slowness....they fix the noise and slowness and completely trash the reliability and fuel mileage...id rather stay slow and stay noisy and get whatt diesels used to promise...but i guess we are to blame as wel because a decade ago we started noticing the performance these diesels can achieve and trucks got good looking, this changed everything

the company that comes up with a programmer that helps u achieve 25-30mpg with these trucks cruising on the highway will be making big bucks . If they can make miracles happen with these chev 4.8 gassers getting 20+mpg highway the they can do the same for the diesels

I am ranting about all this because after 2002 when i see a powerstroke ford i automatically see unreliability and a big expense...

yes I get derailed and go off topic easily, bite me end rant

That could be a over-ride in the computer that prevents the "mashing the pedal" effect. Probably a emission gizmo.

Hey I just found out that this kid got T-boned yesterday! Just did something new to the new engine, got everyone pumped up, and now it looks like it will be totaled. This stinks really bad. I didn't like the truck but he did take the first steps.
