Good Place to Get Straight Piped?
I'm looking for a good place to get my truck straight piped. I assume no national muffler chains, etc are going to do this. Also, how many of these places will install a fake muffler in place of the old one? And should I go with 3'' or 4'' pipe?
I know some of these places can do it for $50 or so. If it's that low, why even bother to do it myself? I'd much rather have someone that know what they're doing install it.
I'm located in Findlay, OH currently.

Hey, whadda ya know!!! After lunch today my muffler just fell off. Somehow ended up in the bed of my truck. What's up with that??? Anyway, haven't driven it far but it sounds pretty COOOOoooooL so far. Can't wait till 5 o'clock so I can enjoy it on my 20 mile drive home. ;D ;D ;D

CR

(P.S. - $25 at the local body shop/muffler shop. What a deal!)

We've been known to install a few 4" systems on older cat & muffler-equipped Cummins Rams, when they were brought to us cat-less, pipe-less, and muffler-less. The guys won't tell us, but we think there's somebody up the road with a sawzall who steals 'em....

Re:Good Place to Get Straight Piped?
$50.00 is a good price. I just bought a 10' section of aluminized pipe and 2 clamps and it cost me $45.00. The best estimate I got was $75.00 but he was gonna weld it back together. I want it clamped just in case I don't like it.

The best place is in your driveway with a Sawzall and a couple of metal cutting blades. I'd buy the down pipe and then buy 4" flex hose or something with some clamps and make your own. Or buy about a 5-6' length of 4" aluminized (or stainless) piping and dump the exhaust right before the back axle. It makes for a hell of a sound in the cab and outside but it gives a nice clean look to the back end.
