Twice the pressure, twice the problems, twice the price, same power!

Altough it is going to make the rules for stock class sled-pulling and drag racing really interesting...

Yep they can't make a single turbo work right, so might as well add another one!!

I thought that I heard the twin turbo's were only gonna be used in the f650 and f750, where its refered to a VT365 instead of a 6.0-no. Funny thing is, a friend works for International, and he said they dont have half of the problems with thier version as Ford did thiers.

Your friend is right. The IH version is not exactly problem free, but is a lot less troubled than the Ford version. Because of the stuff Ford wanted.

But the twin setup will be going on the new (for 07 emissions) 6.4 engine.

They are not TWIN's . the turbos are 2 different sizes and are dual inline turbos. one of which is water cooled. guess we will have to see if it works.

That is what we call twins, two turbos inline, to move lots of air on the top end, and still spool quickly.

I haven't heard anything about one being water cooled, I just assumed that they would be oil cooled like other turbos. Do you have any more info on that?

Yup, us inline guys call two turbos on the same engine twins - regardless of their size. We (like the 6.4 PSD) use the compound (sequential) turbo method that uses the big turbo to force-feed the little turbo.

Which brings up the rather good question: Why the heck do we call them "twins" when they're totally different?

Who's the dingbat behind that nomenclature? (And don't say "Scotty", because I don't want to call him a dingbat.)

I think it was Scotty. Aint he on his way to SoCal for a strongman competition?

Twin can also mean one of a pair, or things related to one another.

What he said!

It's got two turbos.....two, twice, twin, double, dual - whatever you want to call it. It has two of the same component even if they are not identical.
