Eaton-Fuller Transmissions...
Greetings everyone,

I was wondering if it is at all possible to bolt in a Eaton-Fuller 6-speed transmission into a 1st Gen. Dodge Cummins? It sure would be a sweet combination ;D.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Respectfully,

Nicholas R. Gajewski

Anything is possible just as long as you had the time and money. May I also suggest you check into the Spicer 6 speed. Very nice transmission. Almost all of your manual Sport Chassis Freightliner and small FL models run this tranny with the ISB Cummins, MB, or 3126 CAT.

Crawl under a CTD with a NV5600 in it and look at all the extra space under there. Consider that a Clark is even bigger and Roadranger bigger yet, put into play all the possible complications from there. If you are up to the challenge get after it keeping mind 2-4 months of no truck minimum. PK

Re:Eaton-Fuller Transmissions...
I had the same idea and so I started asking questions on the TDR. Well I got a reply from someone with a first gen that did the change to a Road Ranger. Somewhere in the $7000 range is what it cost and he said that it was very noisie(sp?) He had to make a couple of special parts..but it could work...

Rick

Somewhere I've seen a conversion kit to put a 6-speed NV5600 in your truck. It was about $3500-$4500 if I recall, that included the tranny and everything you need. Maybe somebody can help you out on the link?

Just bored, quiet day here at the shop. Since you'll need air anyhoo for your air horns and your air ride seat (justification) throw in a 13spd overdrive Fuller. You don't need it but it'll look slick

Don't dispair creativity is what makes you special just thought you should be aware of what your up against. Local guy here has a 72 Ford 3/4 sitting on 2-1/2 ton military axles with a 13 spd and a 1674 Cat (270hp). Sits about 8" above normal and if the neighbors think a CTD is noisy that old cat just clatters away. PK
