more specifically the fso(family)-6406a, does this tranny ever come behind a 6bt? in what platform?

I dont remember off hand, but I drove a medium duty Ford L8000 that had a 6BT and a 10 speed eaton.

Well I was hoping for a 6spd I don't need all 10 gears but 6spd on a medium duty is tempting Me. Anyone know what applications I can find with this setup?

Thank You, I got that link and I even called the guy (nice fellow), unfortunately He does not sell a kit (that is what I was after) but He does list the parts. The way I see it, I thought this trannys come behind a cummins from factory on some medium duty truck so I was hoping some one here could show Me where can I search for the applications where it is available and get all from one truck to avoid the search for parts and of course more expense, is this right?

Just make sure that whatever tranny you get has an OD or two in it. Just because it is a 6 or 7 speed doesnt mean, in and of itself, that it has OD. You could find yourself going down the road real slowly.
