Keep a finger on the top hat at all times.

Unbolt the throttle bellcrank bracket from the side of the engine and retard the pump all the way for more working space.

Keep a finger on the top hat at all times.

If it doesn't run normally when you put it back together, correct the throttle lever indexing before messing with idle and power screws to compensate. If you put the screws back where they were, it's the throttle indexing that's messed up.

Did I mention that you should keep a finger on the top hat at all times?

Ive got a 93, and they must have changed the entry spot for the banjo bolt, because the one in the sticky goes right into the top of the AFC, while i just checked my truck, and it inserts way lower, like under the starwheel an all that.

I used a very long set of needle nose pliers in my left hand to hook the new spring in the hole while I held the tophat with my right index finger.

Make sure you check the marks to see where the throttle is at, and back the fuel screw all the way out before you put the pump back together. It has to go behind a lever that's inside the pump. Take your time. Be patient. Look to see where everything goes before you remove it, then look twice.

Well, The only good thing about the evening was good ole Mr. Robert Shediek up in Northern California was on speed dial. When I tried to take the top piece off that is your throttle whatever(the piece that has the little connecting ball for the throttle linkage), the bottom peice with the hash marks also came off with it. When I tried to pull the two apart, the big spring at the top broke. The spring that flexes when u put ur foot to the floor. So Im gonna get help before I try this again. I have no idea where to order this bosch spring. But anyway, Attemp 1 was not a complete disaser because thanks to Robert I ended up getting the truck home!

Not sure if you said you broke your Breakover spring or you were thinking about it but here is where you get parts for your pump.
This is an authorized Bosch Repair and they are nice people.

If they know that you know what you are talking about they will treat you like a fellow mechanic.
Here is a parts breakdown with all of the part numbers.
