maybe gm and ford want to try and make the shorter engine work. the i6 does eat alot of space.i love my ctd ,and if chevy and ford owners are offended; i say "joke em if they cant take a f##k"

I would say the main reason chevys and powerstrokes don't have cat, mack, or detroit motors is because they don't want to make a little motor to goin in these truck.
Someone said cost and thats right to. I have no clue how much it would take to start right from the bottom and make a test one motor.What a million dollars, maybe more. Think about it, you would have pay the engineers to think it up.Then all the metal, tool work to make just the enigne.Then test it for 2 years to see what it will do, how long it will last, can it pass emissions, how much power it can make. Then go back and see how long it will last once it have more power.Then when it breaks see how can we make it stronger, then theres more engineer time to figure out how broke and what to do, then some tool and dye time them build it again and then break it again.Then that have to find a middle so it will last long, make power, pass emissions and still be cheap enough to make 500,000 units.

I saw a 28 horse diesel cat motor in a 72" ZTR mower at the farm store the other day. (Yes, it cost as much as a pickup too.
