Engine names?

aight quicky here. If you notice my earlier post there is the one on the 190000, i know these engines go for ever but since i dont know how it was maintained i figured id see how much another one would cost for replacement, rebuilt probably since it is a used truck. But when I was researching i noticed something that confused me. Are the 94-98.5s a 6bt and 98 and up a ISB engine? or are they all ISBs? just a lil confusion here. THanks for the help

Re:Engine names?

Mcummings I have a question for you. I know that the IS in the ISB stands for the Interact System and the B is just the sufix to idnetify the engine size. But I thought that the ISB-E was the 04 engine standing for EGR valve? But since it is an 03 what does that stand for? I would not think it would be the common rail fuel system would it? Thanks for the help. -Anthony

I think it is. I'm not POSITIVE, but, I'm pretty sure the "e" stands either for Electronic, or "echo" which is the Common Rails' engine name. I'm not sure if it would stand for EGR, since I don't think all ISB-e motors will be equpped with EGR, example, generators, and agricultural use.

Re:Engine names?

Last I knew they(Cummins Engineer is source) hadn't decided 100% if they were going with an EGR system on the new trucks. Anyone seen one yet?
