Dead Piston engine trashed

hey all so I am a cummins guy and love my Dodge but I am looking for some help with my dads ford.

so it is a 2004 with the 6.7 it has only 50,000 miles so add ons. it died on him last week and I towed it to 400 miles to ford (with my Dodge ) anyway they are saying that there is two dead cylinders likely from an injector problem and the piston is fried. even though there is only 50,000 miles Ford wont cover it because it is a year out of warranty. here is what I am wondering.

1. Any suggestions or ideas on how to get ford to cover this
2. where close to Colorado can I get a deal on a used or rebuilt engine.
3. Is there anyone in Colorado that might be able to deal with this engine that isn't completely outrageous.

just trying to get this thing back on the road by hunting season

zkhoss:

I am a little confused on your post Sir.

You said your Dads truck was a 2004 Ford with a 6.7?? The new 6.7 Ford PSD Scorpion Diesel Engine did not come out until earlier this year. I think your Dad has the 6.4 or more likely the 6.0 International Diesel Engine.
I don't understand why Ford won't help you?? You are out of the 3/36 but I thought Ford covered their Engines and Powertrain for longer than that.

I would suggest calling ATS Diesel in Arvada, Colorado. I have been doing business with them since 2000 and they have treated me very well. Ask to speak with Mike Meinecke or Sean Porter. Sean has owned several Ford PSD's and knows alot about them. If he can't help you personally, he should be able to direct you to someone who can. Their toll free number is: 1-800-949-6002.

Good luck Sir!

Have you posted this on Ford or Powerstroke related forums? They may be able to help you better.

Replace the 2 injectors, pistons & rings and hit the road, that is all Ford would do for you, and this is done all the time in the industry.
