New piston + old piston pin = no luck

Anybody experienced this? The original piston pin does not want to fit in the new piston I'm installing (too big)... I don't know why the piston bores would be any different but maybe I'll just have to buy a new pin.

what im asking is like details on the viberation and all.....i have noticed that my truck has given a little more viberation then it did 2 years ago but im still feeling good power aswell as decent fuel milage in the 19-20 mpg range.....i just kinda what you can call it worried for my truck because it just turned over 300k in miles just recently and i have so much power going through it and i kinda pushed it very hard when i first got the edge comp box before getting the gauges.......

There are no details to give... one minute I was truckin' along, the next minute I was stopped on the side of the interstate. Sure there was plenty of noise and vibration after it let go, but nothing unusual leading up to that point.

I don't think you have anything to worry about in your situation... but if you're really curious, a blow-by test could give an indication of worn rings. Or pull the head and look first hand.

Something just occurred to me... when I removed the pin from the original piston (the failed piston) I had to pound it out with a hammer while the rest of the pins came out with just the pushing of my thumbs. I suppose the pin could have expanded from the heat during the failure... expanded so much that it didn't return to it's original state...?

Sound feasible?

I will try to tell all I know in 3 sentence
1- will work
2- stock size is measured in grades...(deck ht) once you go O.S. there is NO choice for "grade"....so I do not see how its all that important...measure you deck ht or look at your piston, you will find 2 sets of numbers, lower set is" grade"
3 -I highly recomend you have your rod resized....and if you find any little green tubes in the bottom of your oil pan or drain bucket let me know......as ther is a reason WHY you had a melt dwn.......was 4 thru 6 was it not??(probly 6)
