Doe it have the orange-red cap? I use the prestone pre-mixed and it has the mopar spec number on the back of the bottle.

Can you post the Mopar spec # from the label that identifies it as HOAT?

From doing repair in shops & reading industry mags , I've come to the opinion that the Dex is a problem , lots of issues with corrosion & buildup in cooling system , the reading of , like Motor mag. , that if any air gets into system ,it reacts & causes these leaks / buildup , much more so than just standard coolant .
And being that I am a fan of flushing [ any , all fluids & lubes ] using a less expensive coolant helps preventative issues , PH at neutral , lots of head gaskets , water pump ect issues .

I have a fuel problem... I changed the filter on my 01 24v and now cannot get it started after repeated attempts and low pressure bleeds. Any ideas will be appreciated

DexCool is the wrong coolant to use. Zerex G-05. Ford's gold (yellow) is correct also.

Thanks.

I just wanted to prove a point; you shouldn't go by what brand or tradename the coolant additive is, but rather what the fine print says on the label... I prefer to use an antifreeze that says "HOAT" somewhere on it to be sure.

Never heard of it. I just use normal green Prestone. Buy a jug and make 2 jugs with it and some distilled water.

The book for 03 I have says use HOAT, but I don't know what year that started.

Anyhow, I did some searches here before changing my coolant, and I went with Zerex G-05, the stuff in the gold bottle, which is HOAT.

There was a thread that said the same company (Valvoline) also bottles DC coolant, though it's dyed different.

A buddy who owned a radiator shop tells me not to mix the two (traditional and HOAT) but that after warranty is up you could probably flush and switch to traditional, but you would have to do 2 year changes instead of every 5.

Edit: Found a FAQ page that says Dodge uses Zerex as factory fill, dyed orange, since 01.

Click on the FAQ button.
