Chrysler offer 3 year $3 gal on new diesels

Chrysler has introduced "Let's Refuel America," a program that locks in the price of regular gas, E85, or diesel fuel for 3 years at $2.99 per gallon for consumers who buy select vehicles.

Let's Refuel America cardholders can also use the card to fill up other vehicles in their personal fleet, up to the 12,000-mile limit. However, diesel card holders can only fill up with diesel, and regular gas card holders will be charged extra if they fill up with mid-grade or premium gasoline. If a cardholder sells their vehicle before the 36-month time period is up, they can still continue to use the card for the remainder of the three-year period.

IIRC you get to chose either a rebate or the $2.99 fuel but not both. Also you can bet they have a limit on how many gallons you can buy at $2.99 and they also collect a $2.00 fee each time you buy the cheap fuel.

It's the same as knocking like $5000 off the sticker price, if there's no additional charge for buying the cheap fuel.

Everyone I know with a Dodge diesel, drives a LOT more than 12,000 miles a year pulling cattle trailers, campers, etc. So if you average 60,000+ miles per year, how much does it really save? I guess ever little bit helps these days.

At 15 mpg average , in 12,000 miles you'd use 800 gallons . Even if diesel was a steady $5 a gallon you'd save about $1600 . You bet they'll get that back one way or another .

I'll take the cash, thanks.

Let's me decide what I spend my rebate on, and when...versus having to spend it on fuel over a period of 3 years.

I just received an email flyer from one of my local Dodge dealers over this incentive. The way I read it there's a 2,400 gallon cap on diesel for the 3 year period.

That would cover 39,600 miles in my truck since I have averaged 16.5 mpg over the last year, in all driving conditions.
