Cars with Diesel powerplants

I'm currently looking for a new vehicle for my wife. She is not a truck person. I'd like to find her a car with a Deisel engine. Other than VW, what other cars do you know of that offer the Deisel engine. And what are your thoughts on any of them.........

what about a jeep liberty? they're going to be coming out with a diesel version soon.

its definately not a truck, but offers a little more utility than a car.

just a thought

If you can hang on just a little longer, it sounds like VW will be offering several diesel vehicles alond with MB and BMW. Did you read this thread yet?

Pick up a 98 or 99 E300 MB. Its the best longest lasting large body sedan that gets 35 mpg and has all the safest technologies. Should be in the low to mid 20's. Find one with around 50K miles and you'll have a great car for at least 10 years. Goodluck

VW and MB are about the only choses you have now. In 2006 when we get the low sulfur fuel they will start brining many more the diesels offered in Europe.

There is a long linage of MD diesels to chose from.
