Block heater quit....

Block heater quit....

My block heater went out on my 2001 CTD. What all is involved with replacing these..

I searched for this first..All I could come up with was for 3rd generation location..Is it the same with my 2001??

Are you sure that the plug is not bad??? My block heater stopped working because of a burnt out plug. Check it for continuity with a meter at the plug and element, this rules out one or the other. Replaced mine with a plug from Lowes, works good now.

Mine was the plug end as well. I cut it off and put a new one on and it works again

Yeah, I would say check the cord with a volt meter. You could even check the block heater element for resistance to see if it is bad or not.
