Is this a bad thing?
Is this a bad thing?
so yesterday I was driving down the street and some guy was tailgating me bad, I could only see the top of his roof in my rearview, so I locked up the torque converter and flooded the street and he backed off alot.
what I am asking is is it bad for the transmission to be in Overdrive with the converter locked going 20 mph? the engine was bogged down quite a bit, but the smoke cloud was grrrreeeaaat!

I would say that was a good "test" to see if your trans was slipping. I wouldn't make a habbit out of it though. You should have given the poor joker behind you a kleenex to blow his nose.
That has got to be one of my all time favorite tailgater remedies!
I call it pulling a 007!
I wouldn't make a practice out of doing that to the tranny, unless of course you are looking for a reason to buy some more upgrades!

haha, you guys are funny, oh and the tranny did slip, it ran like that for a few seconds, but then the engine over took the tranny and revved up. guess I need a better one.
