Is this a bad thing?

so yesterday I was driving down the street and some guy was tailgating me bad, I could only see the top of his roof in my rearview, so I locked up the torque converter and flooded the street and he backed off alot.

what I am asking is is it bad for the transmission to be in Overdrive with the converter locked going 20 mph? the engine was bogged down quite a bit, but the smoke cloud was grrrreeeaaat!

I would say that was a good "test" to see if your trans was slipping. I wouldn't make a habbit out of it though. You should have given the poor joker behind you a kleenex to blow his nose.

That has got to be one of my all time favorite tailgater remedies! I call it pulling a 007!

I wouldn't make a practice out of doing that to the tranny, unless of course you are looking for a reason to buy some more upgrades!

I wired up a switch to the pcm that makes it shift into OD, because it doesn't do it on its own. I need to get my PCM re programmed or somethin.

I'm glad somebody else got it. Lance has the tallest CTD I've seen in person.

its taller now, since you saw it, I added 1.5 inches to the rear, and got rid of my 37s and put 40s on it
