8.3L injector nozzles on a 5.9L
So I'm looking at buying a 93' cummins for my crew cab project. The guy who's selling it is a Heavy duty mechanic and has either swapped the 8.3L injectors into a 5.9L or just the 8.3L nozzles onto the 5.9 injectors.
Not sure what exactly he did. He said as long as the nozzles match the piston top there shouldn't be any issues. He said the piston tops were the same on both motors, It runs but its sitting in his unfinished Ford conversion and hasn't driven. He has since found a P-pump motor and is building that for his conversion and selling the '93 engine.
Anyone try this?
Any opinions on it?
He said he's gonna throw in a set of stock injectors if I find the 8.3L ones unfriendly.
Thanks

Unless you know the number of holes and their diameter, there's really not much we can tell you. The 8.3 is a P-pumped engine that runs a higher injection pressure than the VE pumped engine you are looking at. More pressure = more flow for a given nozzle. It may not be significantly more than the stock nozzles, but it's impossible to say for sure.
