i personally dont see a problem w/ erasing it. anyone can buy one of those and do it themselves. you can even leave a deposit and take one home. if it was a temporary problem, the check engine light will stay off, if not the light will come back on eventually. its kinda retarded

So are you saying she wouldn't let you push her buttons for $20?

I think there are other laws involved with offering women money for services rendered.

Maybe, but trust me on this one, the money being offered was most certaintly for the code reader and not for other services. The though of other services with her sends cold shivers down my spine.

Geez. I hate it when I just glimpse through a thread. I thought you guy's were saying the cheap one's would not erase. I went out and just found a code on my truck, so I went looking for a scanner. Well low and behold I found one that erased and all kind's of good stuff. I couldn't wait to get back and report to you guy's. After re-reading, I see they all do erase. Oh well. Here's a nice one that has the on screen definition's. It's the one Autozone sell's for $150. Advanced has them on sale for $99.99 right now.

Yeah
The error I got had nothing to do with the codes, never even talked to it. I was hoping that the CEL would mean the APPS needed resetting. but noooooooo it had to mean dodge needed to charge me $70 to tewll me it would cost $3K to replace LP and VP

I went back after the repairs to see if not reading anything was part of what was wrong with the truck in the first place, no joy. It should at least say "no codes read" , I went there with my wife's Olds van and that's what the reader said said.

OUCH! I'm sorry about your VP and LP. I've replaced my LP a couple of times, and went with the FASS II now.

That's sure odd about some readers not seeing your codes......

I did find out something. The actron reader's only go up to 03. I emailed the company and asked if there was an update or something. They replied,"Just type in the year and it will work. All brand's are like that". Well it won't accept my year so I called them. I said this thing will only read the DTC/generic code's, and not model specific code's. The guy on the phone was a real jerk. He said if I wanted one that would read model specific code's, I'd have to spend alot of money.

So I don't know yet what one that will read all cost's, but after he got smart with me, I sure took their's back, and won't be spending my money with that company.
