ya....either way...BAD IDEA, If they crank the screw down it will not only allow the plunger to not properly fill the barrel in the injector but will RAPIDLY wear out the injector spring and seat and everything in very short order.....Backing the screw off will only break things if there tooooooo loose. 3406e's will break the injectors springs if too loose and then if ran long enough after that break the rocker and is then liable to hurt the rocker next to it--push a bridge off-- then prolly drop a valve.
ON another note,,,,,I have personally witnessed TWO trucks with pittsburge power and WOW is all I can say.
Nother thing is I have also HOTRODDED 3406E's before by installing C-18 750hp injectors in place and also added a michigan turbo in place of the stocker and WOW once again.
Have also personally seen some "certain" folks get the FLS/FTS numbers changed to the majic 42-11 and WOW....SOP feeling is unreal compared to stock.
Then I have seen one that had a marine ECM and harness on it cranking around 750hp to the ground.
But most importantly it also came back from Kalifornia with 4 melted to smitheriens pistons and a severally cracked head Unfortunately the on-highway engines cant handle above sea level cooling conditions, sea water is night and day difference to the engines.

The truck I want to toy with has been dynoed at Cat before when it was having some problems several years ago and put down about 550hp to the wheels. I'd like the truck to still be able to pull heavy loads as it won't make any money other wise but I would be nice to do it faster then most guys

Ya he said turing the injector adjuster screw 90* clockwise from stock setting will give power. I asked if it was bad for the injector spring and he was like ya but u simply asked me how to get more power everything comes with consequences. Then he was like why do you want more power anyways you shouldn't mess with this stuff. Meanwhile the orignal conversation he was talking very different like poeple do it all the time and it wouldn't hurt nothing.
But really anybody know how to get some decent power from these or is it basically all to do with the electronics? Is it possible to put a bigger/better turbo on? and what?
