25mpg 4x4 7.3 strocker???

Talking to a guy I know and he claims 25mpg on a 99 ferd. It has a k&n filter (hehe), a 4" exhaust and a bullydog programmer. 75mph on the highway, 2 tanks, hand calculated.

What do you folks think?

None of my friends see 20mpg running at 75mph with the PS. They range from 15-17mpg. So he's lying....

I think you said it right there "some people". The best my 93 ever got was 19.5 mpg and my 2000's best is almost 21 mpg. Typical is 17 to 19 for both of them on average.

Maybe their getting 25mpg downhill with a tail wind.

Just another bit of what was stated above....

There is no way a 445ci engine of diesel/gasoline is going to get 25mpg unless it is being pushed in neutral!

My dad has a '97 PowerJoke and the best he has ever got is 18mpg. He has over 325K on that POS and it averages about 16-17mpg with mixed city/highway.

My uncles have two of them

at best (crew cab dually 4x4's mildly bombed to about 400 horses) they get about 16 on the highway.... So i think the bulldookie meter is on high alert...

Maybe he's using Imperial Gallons? That would translate to 20.75 MPGUS...

My old man got rid of his 99 F-350 Power'less' Stroke a little over a year ago, and the best he could do was 14-15 mpg, all hand calculated. And this truck was bone stock. Of course it pulled a trailer for the first 98,000 miles of its life. Then he bought it and put another 40k on it. So, yea I am calling BS on this one too.

Hey evryone of them that got one to drive off the lot got the "Miracle Engine"

On Second thought, ask your buddy if it was because there was a Cummins behind him... Who knows, you know how fast you are when you run now and for how long you can run that fast, but when a Rottweiler is chasing you, it seems that the ole body decides it can run faster and for a lot longer. Maybe that is what happened on this crooked finger calculation.
