Question 12 valve / 24 valve Block?

Are the 12 valve and pre-2005 24 valve engine blocks the same? Can I exchange the valve train and cam, install the IP, head etc. from a 12 valver onto/into a 24 valve engine block?
Thanks ... Ken Gardner

The IP you can do, the blocks and heads do not interchange.

The 24 v up to 2002 would work, but the 2003/up will not work. The 3rd gens
use an entirely different block and have no provisions for the mechanical lift pump.
