12 valve and 24 valve block difference

just wondering if 12 valve and 24 valve engine blocks are all the same minus the lift pump. I have the infamous 53 block, (with no leaks yet) thanks

the blocks are the same everything is interchangaeable(head, pistons, lift pump, cams etc...) the only thing is that a 24v has different pistons because of the spray angle of the injectors, u can only use a 94 and up to do this because i believe that the 89-93 blocks are different not absolutely sure but i think so anyway

The 53 block is not a good idea for serious performance use. If building a new engine, always shy away from the 53. Use a pre STORM 12 Valve or a post 53. The 54 and up is good.

The best choice is the Common Rail block, but not everything will interchange.
