01 boggy acceleration at idle and white smoke

01 boggy acceleration at idle and white smoke
Looking at a 01, manual tranny. Sitting at idle and give it some throttle, it is ver boggy and tons of white smoke. It is on a lot so I can not access any records or that sort of thing. What is your first guess??
