04 or 04.5 - what do i have?
ok, so just got myself a new truck! new to me anyways. the dealer has it listed as a 2004, but how can i tell if it is a 2004 or 2004.5? can i run the VIN somewhere?

If it was made Jan. 04 or later it is an 04.5. If it was made in 03' it is an 04. Another place to look is at the HP rating of the engine on the valve cover. If it is 325 then it is an 04.5. If it is 305 then it is an 04.

it looks like i have an 04.5 then. i ran a history check on the vehicle and the first record shows it with 0 miles on it in 03.07.
