02 dmax ?

anyone know what might be causing a 02 dmax
to smoke kinda a grey tint at idle or just above after its warmed up
BTW it has a banks 6 gun and about 200K on the clock it was scaned and
found a #6 misfire and you can feel a slight miss just above idle other than
that the truck runs pretty strong,I'm thinking injector or orings.the oil does smell alittle like diesel.thanks in advance for your help

If it is a whitish gray, it may be the injectors.

Its the injectors... What about 80,000 miles on the truck???

GM will first try to reflash the ECM, then change the fuel filter, then air filter then spend 1 hour on the computer and finally take your truck for 3 days to change the injectors, if they are in stock.

Luckily this will be on warranty for you.

These engines especially are prone to injector failures , and are quite costly to replace if you're paying the bill. At least one injector is bad, hopefully it didn't stay that way for too long. With fuel in the oil it means it was also washing away oil film for lubrication from cylinder/s.

If it is still in warranty, get it there fast and hopefully they will cover it, don't forget to remove all traces of performance mods. Hopefully they will replace all injectors, but I wouldn't count on it, usually just the bad one. This means you will be having this done again soon for the others to be replaced once they crater . Are you buying it, or is it someone you know?

If he doesn't cover his tracks.. The parts and labour for his injectors will be around $5000 at a minumum(thats only $800 per injector, they are more than that over the counter)....

His choice..
