Your means of measurement are very questionable. It would have to be tested under strict conditions and in a lab if there really is a minor difference.

Cost for fuel? I don't know. There doesn't seem to be any real reasons for its current price other than 'because they can'. If more people start using these future diesel cars, then less people will be using gas at the same time. The new cars will get way better mileage than gas, so our country may start to use less fuel, but maybe more diesel than it currectly is. There are a lot of variables. ??????
I think it should go down in a while.

You guys wanna talk about costs, well I'd rather forget them! Try $1950 for a full VE removal/rebuild etc due to 1 tank of ULSD. I hate it. I would have done it myself but I'm not sure what I'm doing, so my dad decided to have it done. oh well it will last forever now, plus I'm having them put in a custom fuel pin.

Probably the same reason that some, including myself, have reported an increase in fuel economy concurrent with the introduction of ULSD...

Infidel has a great link to the vagaries associated with quantifying such small differences in fuel economy; I thought I could give you a link to it, but it's just a PDF on my hard drive.

I'm interested to know how one tank (or tanker-full, for that matter) of ULSD wasted your VE pump.
