The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency says the nation is ahead of schedule on the conversion to ultra-low sulfur diesel.

According to an agency press release, a survey shows that about 85 percent of the diesel being sold meets ULSD standards – even though the regulatory requirement was only 80 percent.

By the year 2010, all diesel fuel is supposed to be ULSD.

Don't know the good or bad of the ULSD, but the truck stop I fuel at still has the LSD. I also use Stanadyne that is now formulated for the ULSD fuel. So far no problems with what ever I run.

You can be sure it's cheaper for the oil companies to only carry one type of fuel.

Technically all fuel is being converted or has been. It takes some time to get the lines and tanks cleaned out through use to certirfy it as UL. Until that time it is not certirfied as UL and is sold as LSD. According to law there is no real LSD any more.

Has anyone noticed their fuel pressure rise with the advent of ULSD?
