CUMMINS & ULSD
How will ULSD effect our motors? Mainly our I.P.'s rather than our motor.
I would think that the 12v would be ok with ULSD because of its oil lubed I.P.
But, what about the 24v? Will there be a TSB requiring the use of a lubricating agent? or will the fuel distributors put a lubricating additive at the pump?
I know ULSD is not far off(2007 right?). I work in the the petrochem business, and we are builiding these ULSD units in plants all over the nation.
BTW,
ULSD = Ultra Low Sulphur Diesel

I wouldn't be too concerned about the switch to the ULSD fuels in the future. There are a pile of large rigs on the road that require lubricating agents in the fuel, so the oil companies are bound to be adding a replacement lube. Up in Canuckville (and their few US distributors), PetroCanada already adds lubricity to the diesel fuel, and other oil companies will likely follow suit.
