Good deal on 98' 12v
I wanna ask your opinions guys, i have the option to buy a 98' 12v dually 4x4, with all power everything and a brand new ATS stage 4 tranny, fully re-done transfer case for racing and a small pump tweak already with 210,000 miles on it for $12,000 ...please tell me i would be stupid for not getting this thing and getting out from under the curse of the 24 valve?
Ok, your......nah guess I won't. I paid lots more than that for my 12 valve. Your miles are higher, but just doesn't sound like a bad deal to me. Look her over real good and maybe do an oil sample on things.
Good luck

Cumminz... See my PM - I'm looking for a '98 QC. If you pass on it, let me know please...
I'm trying to save money, and not having to worry about the tranny would be priceless...
Personally, if I had an '02, I'd look into a P7100 conversion, then you'd have the best of both worlds...

OK...went and checked it out today.The biggest thing wrong that i saw with it was the front crankshaft seal was leaking profusely which i GUESS isn't too bad of a problem since the guys own a 4x4 shop with tools out the yin-yang they said they could prolly fix it.Here's the scoop on the tranny, first upgrade was ATS Triple Lok and V/B which tore up the stock O/D unit, so Clint sent him a new FULL tranny....then about 4,000 miles later it started to slip the gears and not shift out of 3rd, turns out it needs an aftermarket Tranny volt meter or sensor since the one dodge has isn't the correct voltage {which reads DTT
} no big deal, so after the second full brand new ATS tranny it seems to have trouble free miles.The pump looks bone stock so he musta had the timing set up a few degrees since he said something was done to it..other than that it looks like a normal 200k mile truck {white sport 4x4 dually}
wish me luck at the auction with mine..
