I have had the same problem when I get greedy with the "RMO" (by the way, I kind of like the "politically correct" term) in both my cummins and my pos 1982 na 6.2 chev. My 6.2 is WAY more noticable on the loss of power when I get greedy!! The turbo will clean up and get power, where the 6.2 won't.
And yes, I have walked home when I got to thick of mix in the winter
